In 2018, Canterbury Bankstown Council engaged .id to develop a profile of the local economy
The objective was to present a clear, consistent and concise story about the Canterbury Bankstown economy that can be used to inform development of economic strategies and investment material.
Our Method
The report presented a comprehensive analysis of Canterbury Bankstown’s economy, exploring some of the key forces influencing growth in NSW’s largest council by population. These forces include the transition of Manufacturing, growth of population servicing sectors and logistics.
The report also explored spatial resident and workforce differences between the Canterbury and Bankstown ends of the region. Cultural factors and their employment impacts were also covered, highly relevant for one of Australia’s most culturally diverse areas.
We then looked at what might happen going forward. This stage incorporated analysing the employment implications of forecast population growth, major projects, and macro trends.
Results
The report’s narrative and analysis has served as a direct input to economic development and land use planning in the Canterbury Bankstown Council.
