How is Economic Profile accessed?

Like all .id information tools, Economic Profile is publicly accessible, ensuring council, local businesses and community groups are able to work from the same evidence base.

How is Economic Profile supported?

A subscription gives you direct access to the experts behind the tool. In addition to staff training sessions and demographic briefings, we can always be contacted for ad hoc advice via phone or email.

How often is data updated?

Economic Profile has more granular time-series information at both LGA and SA2 level, updates include quarterly figures (e.g. unemployment), annual job and economic data (GRP, jobs, value added, imports/exports, gap-analysis, local sales, industry estimates), and Census data, collected every 5 years by the ABS. Can the areas covered be customised?

No. However, Economic Profile by .id is the only economic tool that provides jobs and economic data using destination zones to show activity at a small area level. This small area data provides the most detailed breakdown available.

Is it possible to measure custom industries?

Yes, Economic Profile allows you to measure custom industries including tourism, agriculture, creative industries, and many more.

How far back is data available?

Economic Profile encourages a wide perspective providing long-range time series for many data sets, each single year since the year 2000.

What comparison areas are used?

Benchmark defaults include national, state and greater capital city statistical areas.
