More than 18,000 people make their home in the picturesque Huon Valley, Australia’s southernmost LGA. But what do these residents value, how do they experience their local area, what needs to happen to advance quality of life and how will the Huon Valley Council use these insights for strategic planning and advocacy?

On the 22nd of March more than 80 local government professionals from 59 councils tuned in to the 30 minute Living in Place – learnings from the Huon Valley webinar.

We were delighted to host the Huon Valley’s Michelle Gledhill – Manager of Economic Development and Strategy – to hear what the organisation was looking for when they engaged .id to deliver our Living in Place community survey, the process of working with us, what was learned about their community’s values, experiences and future needs, and how these insights will be used to help inform Council’s strategic planning and advocacy agenda. You can watch the conversation here.
