Key Highlights

  • .id's online tools—such as profile.id, forecast.id, and economy.id—enable users to quickly generate professional demographic and economic reports delivered via email in PDF format.
  • While PDFs are excellent for sharing, users often require editable versions to customize content, add introductions, or integrate additional data.
  • Conversion Methods
    • Adobe Acrobat: A desktop solution offering robust features for converting PDFs to Word documents.
    • Online Converters: Free online tools like PDFOnline allow users to upload a PDF and download an editable Word version within moments.
  • For specific sections, users can directly export individual pages from .id tools as Word documents by clicking the Word icon located at the top right of the screen.

Like most users of .id online demographic and economic profile tools, if you have been using the new reports feature, you’ll know it’s a great way to quickly make professional, informative reports on a range of demographic and economic characteristics and areas.

After you have selected the information you need in the report, the completed document is sent to you via email (usually within a few minutes) as a PDF file.

However, there are times that you may wish to edit the document to include your own information or your own introduction. In these cases an MS Word format would be useful.

So – here’s a simple way to make MS Word documents from your .id PDF Reports, which you can then edit.

PDF is short for Portable Document Format, developed to enable easy sharing of documents across many different types of computer systems and devices with disparate operating systems.

PDF was developed by Adobe Systems and is now incorporated into many software packages, to make it easy to create PDF’s from other types of file.

One way to create Word documents from PDF is to use the Adobe Acrobat suite, available for your desktop. This product has far more features than just converting documents, so although there is a small cost for it, it may be worth a look.

Alternatively, the internet has spawned countless free “online” converters that also seem to work well. We haven’t tried them all, but here is one we have tried and it seems to convert the .id reports consistently.

To use this option, you would simply prepare the .id report as you normally would, by ticking the boxes of the characteristics you would like included. When you receive the report PDF in your inbox you would then save it.

Then, go to the online PDF converter, (this is using the same one listed above, but you could try others if you wish) upload the PDF file, using the big brown “Upload a file to Convert” button as per below, and within a few moments, you will be able to download the Word version for editing. Simple!

By the way – if you don’t need a whole report, every page in profile.id, forecast.id and economy.id can now be saved individually, either as a PDF or Word Document.

Just click on the icons at the top right of the screen to create the document.
